“Finding the right person to care for a dog like Gesso felt, at times, impossible. He was deeply fearful, and at times could be aggressive. Gesso was a dog who kept his circle very small and his trust even smaller. And yet, Sabina became one of his people. What stood out most about Sabina was her patience and intuition. She never tried to rush Gesso or force a connection. Instead, she met him exactly where he was, earning his trust slowly, gently, and on his terms. Over time, something remarkable happened: Gesso chose her. Aside from us, she became his favorite person—a testament to the care, consistency, and huge heart she brings to her work. We always felt a deep sense of relief leaving Gesso with Sabina, knowing he was not only safe, but truly understood and loved.
